Poor battery quality June 20, 2008 Similar to others, I purchased a Schwinn stealth 1000 from Currie. Used it about 20 hours (max) and kept it in warm storage, with ongoing charges through the winter. Batteries are dead and replacements were quoted as $100 today (6/19/08)...after calling three times...waiting 20 minutes on hold. Scooter is great. Batteries are really poor. Currie customer service is not very good.
Not In Stock, False Ad June 4, 2008 36 volt 10 Ah battery pack as advertised was nearly twice the price as 2 years ago and when ordered, suprise it was not in stock. Do not belileve this advertiser and look at the other reviews! Suggest finding another resource.
Batteries don't last, only got one year out of them May 19, 2008 Purchased an extra battery from them, it seemed a bit weak compared to my other battery in that it didn't last quite as long, but kept it anyway. Now, after storing them for the winter, both are not lasting even half as long as before, the one that was weak is even worse, hardly even takes a charge. I followed their instructions on storing them, too. Now at the price they charge, I might as well forget this idea of using the bike to save money on gas and to be greener! The bike I have had to repair (rear tire) also. (Have the Schwinn 1000) It was/is fun, if only it didn't have this real problem with the batteries lasting or handling storage over the winter.
Stay away from this company November 13, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had a terrible experience with this company. I bought a top-of-the-line scooter from them and never-ever got a working product.
They simply offer to send me parts I don't need rather than fix the problem and send me a working unit.
They did, however, successfully string me along for months waiting on parts so that now enough time has gone by that even returning the product is not an option.
BUYERS BEWARE
wrong battery June 15, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered the wrong size battery, web-site should state which models this battery is for. It has been returned.
