1 out of 5 stars Worst quality yet most expensive toy yet   December 2, 2007

We bought this Mongoose C24V450 for our son iin Oct 2007. A tremendous disappointment.

1. When we received the bike the front disk brake was slightly bent. We called Currie Technology (the distributor) and they shipped us a new disk and told us to take it to a shop or install it yourself. They had no instructions to assemble the bike and the instructions received with the bike were for an ordinary pedal bike (even though the picture outside is of electric bike - there was no mention of disk brakes or electic motor etc).

2. Within 3 weeks the chain connecting the motor to the rear wheel came of the gear. The friendly customer service was again useless. They told us to take it to a shop. They had no ideas or tips on why the chain is loose or how to tighten it.

3. There are many other bad quality things. For example most of the screws are Allen head (to be fastened with Hex wrench). The are easy to strip or break off.

Having spent so much money and time we have one very disappointed child. The distributor has changed the name of the product but most probably the quality is as shoddy as ever.
